The questions every owner asks first.
Plain answers. If something isn't here, ask us in the trip request.
No. We provide travel-rewards research — opinions on how to redeem the points and miles you already hold. We are not financial planners, tax advisors, or credit counselors. If you need that kind of advice, please speak to a licensed professional.
Never. You stay logged in to your own loyalty and card accounts the entire time. We meet on a screen-share and walk you through every click. We don't store passwords, we don't ask for two-factor codes, and we don't move points without you in the seat.
Our service has no impact on your credit. We don't apply for cards on your behalf and we don't recommend applications as part of the engagement. We work with the points you already have.
A travel agent typically books cash itineraries and earns commission from suppliers. The Points Guy is a media business that earns from card referrals. We do neither. We charge a flat research fee, paid by you, and we work only on award redemptions using your existing points. Our incentive is to find you the best use of what you already have.
It reserves a block of research time and signals you're a serious traveler. The full $75 is credited toward your final service fee. If we begin research and you change your mind, the deposit is non-refundable — we've already done the work.
You book. On your own accounts. We guide every click on a screen-share. This keeps you in control of your loyalty accounts, your seat assignments, and your personal information.
Within 48 hours of submission, every time. Often faster. If we can't help, you'll know quickly.
Award tickets are usually changeable. We include post-booking support through travel-day for anything that shifts. If you need a full redesign of the itinerary, that's a new engagement.
